The second VarSITI General Symposium (VarSITI-2017) include invited and contributed talks on topics associated with all areas of the Sun-Earth system science, including observations, theory, modeling and forecast, in particular, addressing the current unusual solar cycle 24. There is a special emphasis on the closer integration of ground- and space-based data, including a discussion on the current and upcoming National and International projects relevant to Space Weather research.
The purpose of this symposium is to promote the science of the connected Sun-Earth system by bringing together members of the international scientific community. The workshop also provide an excellent opportunity to showcase the science of the hosting region (Eastern Asia).
This is the second in a series of successful and well-attended science meetings sponsored by the Scientific Committee on Solar-Terrestrial Physics (SCOSTEP) program. SCOSTEP seeks global cooperation in space instrumentation for space weather studies.
Scientific sessions encompasse all areas of the Sun-Earth system science, including:
- observations, theory, modeling and forecast;
- integration of ground- and space-based data;
- discussion on the current and upcoming projects relevant to Space Weather research.
